Missouri Trip Days 3-7

Now that I am back home from Missouri, I compiled up everything my family did in Missouri. From renting a pontoon to fishing, there were a ton of things we got to do in Missouri, even though we weren't around any type of civilization. We are going back next year, so hopefully we'll get more in, and hopefully we'll have a blast like we did this year. I will tell you, though, the last night of our vacation, the AC decided not to work in our lake house, and I didn't get any sleep the night before we left. However, I did get sleep on the way back home in the van. Anyway, let's get into it!
DAY 3: SWIMMING + JUMPING OFF THE DOCK
I still have a bruise on my leg from when I jumped from the dock, and the water hit my leg. It hurt so bad! If any of you decide to jump from a dock or anywhere else, please jump straight in and not like I did! What I had done was I curved my body a little bit, and the water hit my leg at a bad angle, making my leg bruised. My husband jumped from the dock, too!
It took a while for my aunt, uncle, and cousin to jump from the dock, but they eventually did it. I did not get any videos of the jumping, though, as they jumped on the last day we were there, and I was inside the lake house just reading a book on my Kindle.
DAY 4: PONTOON, RAFTING, FISHING + MAKING DINNER FOR THE FAM
I didn't fish at all because I have a thing with wriggly, slimy things. It's just disgusting!! I will tell y'all, however, that in my family we've had this curse for 21 years with not being able to catch a single fish anywhere we go. My husband broke that curse on this vacation! My dad was so happy that Tyler finally broke the curse. Tyler caught 5 fish while my dad caught only 2. My mom caught 11 fish. She caught the most fish than anyone else in the family!

We also got a pontoon on day 4. It was a lot of fun. We had a raft on the end of the boat that everyone got on...well, everyone except me because I didn't want to swim that day. I got on the pontoon but didn't have my swimsuit on. I did get sunburned, though. Tyler got the worst of it, though. Tyler lost his pants on the raft, but he was smart enough to wear another pair underneath, and luckily, he was able to hold on to the other pair.
After the events of the fourth day, Tyler and I made dinner for the family. We made hot dogs and hamburgers, mac and cheese, beans with sausage, macaroni salad, and potato salad. The macaroni and potato salad were all in containers, as we didn't want to have too many dishes to do by the end of the night. We also did more fishing that night, and we had to prettiest sunset, too!

DAYS 5-7: MORE PONTOONING + REST
Not much was done the last few days, except for one more day of pontooning on day 5. Tyler and I didn't do the pontoon again, as my legs were hurting from the sunburn I got. The last few days after my family returned the pontoon were spent resting and just swimming and enjoying each other's company. On our last day of vacation, we went to a restaurant called Boondockz. I got a steak with sweet potato fries and mashed potatoes with gravy. I was too excited about my food that I didn't get a picture of my food unfortunately. We also got a few family pictures in like we always do the last night of vacation.

I rated this vacation a 9.5 out of 10. I loved the area we stayed at, even though there wasn't anything nearby to do, but it was still a lot of fun! I faced my fears going up the arch in St. Louis, to jumping off the dock at our lake house. I'm pretty proud of myself. I hope everyone had a chance to go on vacation this year, and if you didn't, hopefully this will get you excited about a future trip that you have coming up! Have a blessed week, and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me!
